Finding and generating diverse sources of knowledge
The commissioning or service improvement cycle involves diverse sets of activities and can be informed by a very wide range of knowledge and evidence. If it is to contribute effectively to tackling ethnic inequalities the commissioning process requires the generation or mobilisation of evidence and knowledge in order to:
Describe ethnicity-health-healthcare relationships
Understand the causes of observed patterns and inequalities
Prescribe action to address ethnic inequalities
Monitor and evaluate impact (process and outcomes)
